It’s not strange to find Google Project Fi or even the official Google store with availability issues as far as the latest flagship phones are concerned. It happened last year and it’s also happening this year, at least until now.
A while back, people who wanted to buy the Google Pixel 2 XL in Black & White, popularly known as the Panda, couldn’t do so due to the availability issues. In the official Google Project Fi store, the only option available was the Just Black variant of the Pixel 2 XL alongside other variants of the smaller Pixel 2. For those who could opt for the other color variant, the only option was to wait for the availability of the variant and it appears that the wait is finally over.
A quick look into the Google Project Fi online store reveals that the Panda is back in store, which should be a relief for those who were holding out for this variant. Unlike last year where the Pixel and Pixel XL had the same color options, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have different colors, except for the Just Black variant. In fact, the Pixel 2 has three color options to choose from, including Clearly White and Kinda Blue.
The Google Pixel 2 XL ships with a 6-inch pOLED display screen with a QHD resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and Android Oreo out of the box. The battery is a 3520mAh unit that supports fast charging technology. Keep in mind that like recent iPhones, the Pixel 2 XL has no 3.5mm audio jack. Furthermore, the phone also doesn’t come with wireless charging, a feature that is common with phones in the same price range.
