Moto G5 Plus Prototype Reveals Key Specs Upgrades ahead of March 2017 Release Date

Moto G5 Plus

The Moto G5 Plus is expected to be launched alongside its brother, the Moto G5, possibly a few weeks from now. But if last year’s dates were to be retained, we should be having a few more months before the two are actually released.

The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus turned out to be very impressive phones for the midrange family. The two offer some of the best in performance specs, camera quality, software experience and price, just to name but a few. Many have fallen in love with the phones, especially the high-end Moto G4 Plus, and it appears that the story will be the same with the upcoming Moto G5 Plus.

Many rumors and speculations have been doing rounds with respect to the Moto G5 Plus and its twin, but not so much has come out with tangible facts. Well, according to the latest reports coming from Romania, it appears that we have our first look at the Moto G5 Plus. Apparently, there’s someone who has a prototype of the Moto G4 Plus successor and in fact, there are quite a good number of images of the phone that show all sides of the handset and its design.

In addition to showing off the entire outside design of the Moto G5 Plus, the photos were also accompanied by a key set of specs that the phone will be coming in with. As it seems, there are some significant upgrades that Motorola has made to the new phone when compared to its predecessor, but some are still the same.

The screen size and resolution will not be changing with respect to the Moto G4 Plus, however, you’ll be getting a stronger Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC as compared to the 617 used on the G4 Plus. Still, you get a 4GB RAM and internal memory of 32GB, which should probably be supported by a microSD card. Last year’s Moto G4 Plus had three variants – 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB – but there seems to be looming a huge change, with a new combination of 4GB/32GB.

The back of the Moto G5 Plus reportedly has a 13MP snapper while the front packs a 5MP selfie camera. Compared to last year’s 3000mAh, the battery unit has slightly been stepped up to 3080mAh. Motorola will be rolling out the new Moto G5 Plus with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, but the price and the exact release date are still a mystery.
