Launched in May 2016, the Lenovo Zuk Z1 is an upcoming smartphone that will be released shortly as a tie up between Lenovo and the Chinese Internet company ZUK.
This release is following an announcement about this device by the manufacturer way back in September the previous year. As a midrange dual nano SIM gadget, the Zuk Z1 will initially be available only online through Amazonin white and dark gray colors.
Body Material, Design, Dimensions and Weight
Like other medium budget smartphones, the Lenovo handset will not offer a full metal body. However, reports indicate that efforts have been taken to incorporate metal as the body material as far as possible. If these talks are to be believed, the gadget will feature a combination of metal and plastic for its casing. The back of the device has a plastic panel that cannot be removed. A metal band with an anodized finish will be seen running along all four sides of the smartphone like a frame. This gives the handset a better polished and clean look than it would with a full plastic body. As is often the case, there will be shortcut volume control and power/unlock buttons on the right side. The SIM tray will be located on the other side.
Considering the dimensions and weight attributes, you may be in for a bit of a disappointment if you are looking for a really sleek and lightweight device. The gadget is expected to come in a size of 155.70 x 77.30 x 8.90 mm and weigh 175g. However, the Lenovo Zuk Z1 will by all means be quite compact to hold and does offer grip without giving way to chances of slipping.
Screen Display, Pixel Resolution and Pixel Density
The screen display, pixel resolution and pixel density will be at par with other handsets in this category. Anticipated to sport a Full HD 5.5-inch IPS LCD display, the Zuk Z1 will feature a pixel density of 1920 x 1080 and showcase a pixel density of 401ppi.The Corning Gorilla Glass screen will assure you of a scratch-free display. Overall, you can be ensured of decent quality images and texts. Moreover, thanks to the choice of IPS LCD display, the smartphone will also exhibit wide viewing angles. This can prove to be quite beneficial when you play games or watch movies with the gadget.
Primary and Secondary Cameras
Analyzing the statements about the primary and secondary cameras, the Lenovo device does not appear to let you down in the cameras department. The rear 13MP snapper is likely to encompass a Sony IMX214 sensor and a 5P Largan lens along with a dual LED flash. Images shot using both standard and HDR mode are bound to be quite sharp. Optical image stabilization will be one of the key highlights as it helps in taking good shots even in low lighting situations. Other standard features such as panorama, geo-tagging, face detection and touch focus can also be expected. The handset is also anticipated to help in recording 1080p videos at both 30fps and 60fps. In comparison, the front 8MP shooter appears to be equally promising and is supposed to be capable of recording 1080p videos @ 30fps.
Hardware, Software and Memory
Living up to expectations, gossips are that the Lenovo Zuk Z1 is to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5GHz quad core Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 graphics processor. This will be supplemented with 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM to serve as internal storage. With 3GB RAM and a good clocking frequency of 2.5GHz, performance is bound to be seamless and smooth. A drawback here is that you will not be able to expand the memory beyond the already available 64GB.
The smartphone will be loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with plans for upgrade to Android 6.0 Lollipop. Additionally, the installed Cyanogen Mod 12.1 will allow for various forms of customization like the status icons, the toggle buttons, and even the default font.
Battery
The Zuk Z1 is all set to house a powerful 4,100 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery. A fully charged battery will offer close to 38 hours of talk time and 526 hours of talk time. The charger supports fast charging functionality.
Overall, the Lenovo Zuk Z1 is bound to have some noteworthy specs for its price range. The smartphone can be considered if you are not particular about factors like memory expansion and having to wait for the operating system update to be made available.
