Nintendo Switch

While the new Nintendo Switch update offers a few interesting things, fans were expecting something else!

Founded more than a century ago, Nintendo has established itself as one of the leading video game companies in the world. One of the biggest contributing factors behind Nintendo’s growth is that it has shown a keen interest in evolving with time. It always made an effort to come up with the kind of products and technological innovations that would appeal to gamers and offer them a new experience. The video game is also responsible for creating some of the most iconic characters to have been launched in the history of gaming.

Now, Nintendo has launched a new Nintendo Switch firmware update which Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED users can download conveniently. A while back, Nintendo had rolled out the Nintendo Switch update 19.0.0. That update, too, had to be downloaded separately. To get the best out of these new additions, Nintendo Switch owners would be required to download the update. Only after they download the update, they will be able to engage in activities like using Nintendo Switch online, launching online games and gaining access to the Nintendo eShop.

Updates featuring round numbers tend to have a lot of weight and offer a lot of fresh content to players. Launched in the early months of 2017, Nintendo Switch has now run its course. At the moment, Nintendo is taking some steps to ensure fans prepare themselves well for its successor, Nintendo Switch 2. Though a few things are yet to be confirmed, Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be getting a grand unveil towards the end of the year. An official launch should happen sometime next year.

There have been rumours suggesting that Nintendo Switch 2 will have backward compatibility with the current version of the console. If this is true, Nintendo will have to do a few things to ensure the transition happens smoothly. The patch notes of the update have not served any indication about it but this could happen sometime in the future. In the near future, one expects dataminers to scrutinize the update and try to get some fresh information about it.
