New Samsung Galaxy S8 Leak Hints at Three Memory Variants – 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+

A lot is going on about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ and up to this point, it is becoming very difficult to choose what to believe and what to ignore.

While it is easy to trust some leaks based on the track record of the tipster, the number of these tipsters has grown immensely lately. One new Twitter account that is behind recent leaks on both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 – @UniverseIce – claims to have stumbled across what are to be the storage and RAM options for the upcoming S8 phones.

We already know that Samsung has two variants in the works based on screen size – the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+. In addition, previous rumors have claimed that the company will do away with the 32GB base model and instead double this to 64GB. As a result, the higher-end models in the lineup, at least when looking at the storage, will double the company’s previous offerings. Last year, Samsung had 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and with the base model headed for 64GB, the other two are reportedly set to come in with 128GB and a massive 256GB variant. The high-end model will match Apple’s high-end storage option for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

In addition to doubling the amount of storage memory in each of last year’s packages, the latest leak also claims that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will ship with double the RAM of the S7 and S7 Edge. The high-end model will pack a monstrous 8GB RAM, but the low-end model will still keep the 4GB RAM from last year. Apparently, there will be a midrange version with 6GB RAM.

Keep in mind that this tipster’s account is very new and cannot be trusted on any fronts. So take this report with a grain of salt, at least until after the MWC 2017 since Samsung is rumored to have prepared a short video clip meant for teasing both Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ ahead of their March 29 launch.
