Nintendo Switch Great Comeback Story: Fastest Seller in Nintendo History

Nintendo Switch

After the flopping of the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch is a great comeback for Nintendo.

This is similar to the debacle of the Galaxy Note 7 being followed by the Galaxy S8. Nintendo is being given a second chance at success and going by the numbers, it seems that users are quite forgiving, with the Nintendo Switch becoming the fastest selling device in the history of the company.

Fastest Seller

Recently, Nintendo had released a press note saying that the Switch was the fastest seller among the consoles sold by the company. The NPD group has stated that Nintendo has sold 906,000 consoles of the Nintendo Switch during March of this year and this number is for the US market alone.

Breath of the Wild

The Nintendo Switch is also doing well in other markets as well. For instance, the console has sold 300,000 units in Japan during the initial week. Moreover, The Legend of Zelda, breath of the Wild also sold very well, with over 925,000 units in case of the Nintendo Switch and 460,000 in case of the Wii U. This means that the Legend of Zelda has sold more than 1.3 million units as of date.

This is not very surprising, as the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is one of the biggest games that is available for the Nintendo Switch at the time of launch and the attach rate between the console and this game is almost one to one. Most of the reviews posted for the Nintendo Switch have been positive, though there have been some problems occasionally. As for the game Breath of the Wild, it has scored almost perfect reviews.

You can play the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild on the go. Playing a game that is so big and complex is quite a feat. The rendering of the game on the Nintendo Switch is astounding, with sharp and bright screens with powerful stereo speakers.

Seamless Transition

The Nintendo Switch was released on the 3rd of March this year at the price of around $469. It is small but solid and comes with JoyCon controllers that can pack in quite a few tricks and punches. You can carry the device with you anywhere you go, as it is a portable console and very comfortable as well. The quality leap is great when compared to the Nintendo 3DS.

It is possible that the bulk of the Switch games will be created for the Nintendo Switch, with games specifically made for the console. By the end of the year, there will be plenty of additions to the games library, with news games making an interesting use of the console’s JoyCons. The Switch is fun and offers ease of use. It will probably result in a mass following, similar to the Sony PS Vita and might very well become one of the must have consoles for 2017 and even beyond.
