When it first emerged that the Nokia 3310 will be making an official comeback at the Mobile World Congress 2017, not so many could have bet on the fact that people will be excited about the phone.
Well, since then, the hype that has followed has been immense and finally, the Nokia 3310 is here. The phone has been remade by HMD Global, the Finnish company that came to Nokia’s rescue. Even though it keeps a lot of the design language of the original model, the new version has some new perks to accompany it, be it the design or specs under the hood.
Apparently, the Nokia 3310 looks like a mash-up between the original Nokia 3310 and the Nokia 150, especially when looking at the design of the buttons, but you’ll for sure notice it from a distance unless you’ve never experienced this legendary handset. But unlike before, the screen size is way larger at 2.4 inches and is also a colored one.
Given today’s obsession with photos, those who decide to buy the new Nokia 3310 will not be left behind thanks to a 2MP shooter on the back. These photos and other media files can be stored on the phone’s 16GB of internal storage and if not enough, there’s room to expand it via a microSD card of similar capacity.
While the original model had a 900mAh battery capacity, the latest Nokia 3310 model has bumped this to 1200mAh, thus promising up to 22 hours of talk time and a whole week in standby mode. Even though these are huge improvements when compared to the original 3310, these specs are nowhere near what basic entry-level Android phones offer. But if you had missed the addictive Snake game and Nokia ringtones, you might want to look at this phone, especially since it will be priced at just €49 or about $52.
As for the availability, you may have to exercise some patience as the Nokia 3310 will not be here until Q2 2017, which starts on April 1 and ends on June 30. Patience folks!
