Nokia 9 Rumors – 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED Display, Iris Scanner, IP68 and Dual 22MP Carl Zeiss Camera in the Works

Nokia 9

Nokia is back! In case you didn’t know, we already have the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and the iconic Nokia 3310, but not all of these phones are currently available for purchase.

Even before every other market can get their hands on the current crop of Nokia phones, there’s word that the tech giant is working on a flagship Nokia 9 phone that will be unveiled in the near future. According to a report by Nokia Power User, the Finnish company has something more than cool in the making and if the specs detailed out here are anything to go by, it will indeed be hard to beat Nokia this time around, just like it had always been.

It is not the first time rumors of the Nokia 9 have emerged. However, it is the first time more concrete details are showing up. Apparently, the flagship will come in with top of the table specs and features, among them the highly regarded IP68 dust and water resistance certification.

If all goes according to this report, the Nokia 9 will ship with an impressive 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD). Not only will the phone be the first from Nokia with such a high-end display screen, it will also be the first to come in with Nokia OZO audio features where users get 3D audio experience that is fine-tuned for earphones and spatial audio playback devices.

Nokia 9

Like any other 2017 Android flagship, the Nokia 9 will reportedly come in with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC that will be paired with a massive 6GB RAM. The same report further adds that the handset will also be equipped with a 22MP dual-lens Carl Zeiss camera on the back alongside a 12MP selfie shooter. As for the battery, the Nokia 9 is rumored to come with a decent 3800mAh unit whereas Android Nougat will do the magic when it comes to the software aspect.

For now, the release date remains unknown, but given the many rumors that are surfacing regarding the device, it won’t be a surprise if HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 9 before the end of Q2 2016.
