Not a Fan of the Curved-Edge Xiaomi Mi Note 2? Flat Screen Model Coming Soon

Xiaomi Mi Note 2

Xiaomi had developed a bad reputation in the smartphone industry – something that even earned it the title Apple of China due to its copy-pasted smartphone designs.

However, this has taken a recent turn of events following the release of the Xiaomi Mi MIX – a phone that is almost bezel-less with a screen to body ratio of 91.3%. The only bezel found on the Mi MIX appears at the bottom of the screen, where you also find the front camera. Alongside the Xiaomi Mi MIX came another amazing creation in the shape of Xiaomi Mi Note 2.

This is the second offering in the company’s line of Note smartphones, but it has a lot in common with another Note family device – Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Is this is another attempt to copy-paste the best designs in the smartphone market? Well, it depends on your own taste and idea of what copy-pasting really is. As far as Xiaomi is concerned, the Mi Note 2 is a phone designed by the company from scratch with a target in mind.

If you happen to be one of those who don’t fancy the curved dual-edge screen that the company used on the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, well, there is good news for you. According to a new report, there is a flat screen edition of the Mi Note 2 in the works. In fact, the phone has just passed China’s TENAA, which is just the country’s smartphone certification body like the FCC.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is already a highlight in the smartphone industry thanks to its great list of specs and features. Well, with the flat screen edition, you get the same specs and features, but there is no curved dual-edge screen. This means that the same Snapdragon 821 SoC and 6GB RAM will be featured on the phablet alongside a huge 6.4-inch screen.
