OnePlus 3 is the next flagship that Chinese OEM OnePlus is expected to release in the coming months.
This device will have a hard time to capture the market considering that players such as Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and Sony have already done their part and others such as HTC and Huawei are also expected to release newer devices in the coming days.
However, as it has become a common thing with Chinese smartphone makers, pricing is where they beat all other players in the industry. These companies come in with stylish devices that pack some of the latest and top-performing hardware, but the devices are priced at very affordable prices, with others coming in at almost half the price of other flagships carrying similar specs.
This is why the upcoming OnePlus 3 is worth watching out for, especially for the companies that are yet to make a mark in 2016, for instance, HTC.
No April release date for OnePlus 3
Previous reports had suggested that the OnePlus 3 will be released somewhere in Q2 2016. However, there was no specific date to back this information. Newer reports later came in suggesting that this device will be released this coming April on Thursday 7. However, it seems this date will not materialize, according to a statement from the company via Android Authority.
Even though OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 3 will not be coming out on April 7, it has not given a date of when this device will be available to the market. In addition, no word came out regarding what specs and features this device will carry, but because it will be the company’s next flagship, expect some of the best specs on this device.
If rumors are to be believed (for now) the upcoming OnePlus 3 will be equipped with a decent 5.5-inch display screen that manages a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the phone will pack the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset and two variants of 3GB and 4GB RAM. As far as the onboard storage is concerned, rumors are rife that the 3GB RAM variant will pack 16GB while the 4GB RAM model will come with a storage size of 64GB.
OnePlus 3 will also come with a capable 13MP snapper on the rear that is supported by another 5MP on the front. To power the phone will be a massive 3500mAh battery unit in addition to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
There is no information on the price of the OnePlus 3 smartphone, but considering the pricing of the previous model, this phone might again fall in the sub-$400 category, just like the Xiaomi Mi 5.
