The OnePlus 3 has been one of the bestselling smartphones over the last few months, as the Chinese company has managed to pack an incredible package which is priced just right.
The phone, however, could be succeeded by a new model just a few months into its lifetime. After heavy rumors, it seems that the OnePlus 3T could be set for a launch on November 14.
Smartphone buyers would not have expected this possibility, as the OnePlus 4 would be the next logical device in the company’s lineup. After all, it has also been rumored that the OnePlus 4 will come out with elements like a snapdragon 830 processor and QHD resolution. Now, though, the OnePlus 3T promises to bring some minor improvements to the stable. The reason for OnePlus launching this device right now does not seem clear, but it may largely have to do with the Galaxy Note 7’s absence.
OnePlus 3T is rumored to come with a much larger 6 inch display, which seems like an ideal contender to take on the now extinct Galaxy Note 7. The 5.5-inch screen on the existing OnePlus 3 is only smaller by 0.2 inches, but it is led on by the lower resolution compared to the Galaxy Note 7 or other phablets. A number of companies have been trying to take advantage of the Galaxy Note 7’s and availability coupled with the Apple iPhone 7 Plus also being available in short numbers.
Apple appears to have underestimated the demand for the iPhone 7 Plus models. The company has been facing huge backlogs for the model, which has become increasingly popular amongst buyers who are willing to pay the premium for aspects like the 5.5 inch display and dual camera set up.
The OnePlus 3T is rumored to come with an improvement in terms of the camera even though it may not be in terms of the mega pixels. OnePlus 3T is moving down the route of the Sony IMX398 sensor, which has been quite popular in several smart phones of late. The rumored snapdragon 821 processor is unlikely to result in a significant improvement in terms of performance, but it will be a selling point nonetheless. Other elements of the phone are expected to remain similar with the OnePlus 3, meaning that it will come with 64 GB of on-board storage, a 3000 mAh battery, and dash charging feature.
