Motorola recently took the wraps off the budget-friendly Moto C and C Plus – phones that come in priced in the sub-$150 category, yet giving you a taste of the new Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.
The Moto C and C Plus are almost the same, with a few variations under the hood, among them the battery capacity. Where the standard Moto C has a 2350mAh unit, the Plus model has a bigger 4000mAh unit. Well, it appears this is Lenovo’s new style of doing things, with the battery capacity joining the display screen size and camera as the main distinguishing features between the Moto E4 and E4 Plus.
Although not official from Motorola, someone has already gained access to the images and specs of the Moto E4 and E4 Plus. Apparently, the standard Moto E4 will come in with a smaller 5-inch display screen with an HD resolution while the Moto E4 Plus will be a little bigger at 5.5 inches, but keeps the same HD resolution.
Under the hood, the Moto E4 and E4 Plus will reportedly come powered by a MediaTek MT6737, same as what is found in the Moto C Plus. This is then backed by a 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage on the former and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage on the latter. The two share a similar selfie camera of 5MP but the back of the Moto E4 has an 8MP lens as opposed to the 13MP lens used on the back of the Moto E4 Plus.
As you can see, the differences here are not major, but when it comes to the battery capacity, you’ll love the Moto E4 Plus. This phone has a massive 5000mAh battery unit compared to the 2800mAh unit used on the standard model. Like the Moto C Plus, this huge battery should come with support for fast charging technology or else, it will take ages to charge from 0-100%.
Now, for the pricing, the tipster argues that the smaller Moto E4, as expected, will be cheaper in Europe, priced at €150 while the powerhouse E4 Plus will set you back an additional €40. If the leak is to be believed, the E4 will come in two color variants of Blue and Gold whole the E4 Plus will ship in Gold or Gray, but don’t be surprised if your region got a Blue variant of the Plus model.
