A new post on the popular Weibo post by a reliable tipster reveals that Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is working on a tablet.
The leak also specifically mentions that the tablet will be focused on gaming. Very little information is mentioned about the tablet in the leak by Digital Chat Station. The tipster claims that the new Redmi gaming tablet will be small and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor under its hood. He additionally states that the processor performance may be much better than that of other large tablets. The large tablet is likely to be the Redmi Pad Pro with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Gaming Tablet Processor Speculations
While the exact name of the processor is not revealed, there are guesses that it will either be the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. As neither of the chipsets is a flagship SoC from the manufacturer, the tablet is likely to have an upper-midrange price. Chinese netizens are of the unanimous opinion that the gaming tablet will not incorporate the upcoming flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Interestingly, the same tipster had put up a post on Weibo in August about Redmi working on a flagship tablet. The post mentioned that the tablet was in the prototyping phase. It also stated that the gadget would have an LCD screen and a compact design. The same post also indicated at a 2025 launch for the tablet.

The possibility of both posts by the tipster referring to the same tablet cannot be ruled out. However, it is too early to arrive at this conclusion at the moment.
The Redmi gaming tablet may deliver better performance than the parent company’s upcoming Xiaomi Pad 7 lineup. The flagship tablets in this series are the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro which are reported to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets respectively.
