The International calling service introduced by Reliance Communications, led by Anil Ambani, which is called the Reliance Global Call has launched RGC India, an international calling app that allows making international calls at a cost of just a rupee for a minute.
The CEO of the Consumer Business department at Reliance Communications, who is also the Co-CEO at Reliance Communications, had mentioned at the launch of the app that this RGC international calling service will now enable the customers who are residing in India to have an instant, seamless, and convenient access to all their loved ones across the globe. This service is available only for the people residing in India, irrespective of the telecom network that they are using on their mobile devices.
The RGC Service for the Customers
The Reliance Global Call service is can be accessed by users who use mobile phones and land-line forms of communication within the Indian sub-continent. The customers using mobile phone communication services including both prepaid and post-paid subscribers across all the different telecom carrier networks that include Reliance, Vodafone, Airtel, Tata Docomo, Idea, Aircel, and MTS networks will be able to avail these services. The customers will who wish to use this RGC India international calling service will have to register for the RGC service via the official website. The smartphone users can also download the RGC India app for Android devices from the Android Play Store and for the iPhones from the iOS App Store.
Direct Dialing
The CEO of the Consumer Business department at Reliance Communications had also added in his statement that the RGC India app has been developed for the discerning customers in India whose needs for making international calls had to be taken care of. The RGC India app enables the users to dial the international contacts directly, without having the requirement for them to enter the PIN number or the toll-free numbers.
The Tariff of the International Calls
Reliance Global Call had also announced an introductory offer with the launch of the RGC India app. By availing the introductory offer, the customers will be able to benefit a talk-time worth Rs 200 upon a sign-up with Rs 100. The international calling rate has been set at a charge as low as just Rs 1.4 per minute. So, from now on customers can use the RGC India app to make international calls at economic rates to different international countries that include the US, Canada, the UK, the UAE, and 200 other global destinations. The prices will be different, depending on whether the calls are made from the landline or from the mobile phone. Apart from this, according to the rules of the Indian Government, levying of a 15% tax is also applicable.
Sign-Up Offers
Many sign-up offers have been introduced by RGC to promote using the app to make international calls. The least sign-up amount of Rs. 25 gives a total talk time of Rs.50. Similarly, a sign-up amount of Rs.50 gives a talk time of Rs.100, Rs.75 gives Rs.150, Rs.100 gives Rs. 200, Rs.250 gives Rs.350, Rs.500 gives Rs.650, Rs.1000 gives Rs.1300, and a sign-up of Rs.1500 gives a total talk time of Rs. 1950.
Competition from Other Telecom Operators
Reliance Global Call, which is leading, top brass telecom operator has launched these low-cost international calling packs to keep all the competition from other telecom companies at bay, apart from retaining the market share. Recently, in September, Airtel had unveiled a “Smart” pack that offers incoming SMSes for free and allows making free outgoing calls, but for a limited time range for international roaming in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore and the UAE. Even Vodafone had come up with a daily international roaming plan across 30 countries that include free incoming calls, outgoing calls at the cost of Rs.1 per minute and mobile data network at that the cost of Rs. 1 per MB. The Vodafone customers can avail these services by paying a daily rental of Rs 500.
