Report: Nokia 3310 – and Nokia 6 – to Launch in India in May – It’ll be “Mind-blowing and Very Beautiful”

Nokia 3310

The Nokia 3310 is set to be one of the most interesting revelations of the Mobile World Congress 2017, an event that takes place starting Monday next week.

Ever since HMD Global took over control of Nokia, things are looking great again for the Finnish company. The release of the Nokia 6 was welcomed by many in China and apparently, the company is aiming to push this phone, alongside the Nokia 3310, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, to other parts of the world, including India.

Details of the Nokia 3310 first emerged mid this month and back then, only the price and possible launch date were highlighted. The revamped version will reportedly cost €59 or about $62 and so far, previous reports had indicated that the phone will be sold in Europe. But in a new report coming from India, it appears that this is not the case.

If all goes according to this development, the Indian market should be able to buy the Nokia 3310 as early as May. According to the Indian Express, the refreshed model will be “mind-blowing and very beautiful.” The publication, which sites sources close to the matter, also adds that the 3310 will ship with a new look compared to the 17-year old model. As it is, fans can expect an oval shaped Nokia 3310, but there will be plenty of colors to choose from.

Nokia 6

Even though unsure, the source argues that the Nokia 3310 should be priced below Rs 3000 ($45) in order to be a success, claiming that no one will be willing to pay more than that for a phone that only gives basic features.

If the Nokia 3310 is not good enough for you, the report also says that the Nokia 6 will also be hitting the stores in India following its launch at the MWC. Apparently, the phone will be priced at Rs 19,000, which is equivalent to around $284.
