Report: Upcoming Google Pixel 2 phones to be accompanied by a couple or more hardware surprises

Many are looking forward to the release of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL later this fall. But according to sources familiar with Google’s plans, it appears that there will be a couple or more hardware surprises to accompany the Pixel 2 phones.

The company is already planning a huge rework on the Google Pixel XL, where rumors claim that the phone’s successor will have a completely new design. Apparently, Google will join the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 in sporting a near bezel-less design.

If you thought the Pixel 2 phone is the only secret that Google is keeping from you, there may be a couple or more others in store. Apparently, the search giant has plans to announce an all-new Chromebook Pixel. The last time the search company released a Chromebook Pixel was back in 2015 and if this materializes, it should be great for users of the current model wishing to upgrade to a newer and more powerful version.

In addition, the event will reportedly see Google unveil a mini Home, which is basically a smaller version of the standard Home announced last year alongside the Pixel and Pixel XL. This is something like the Amazon Echo Dot, which is basically a miniaturized version of the regular Echo. The standard Home costs $129 and looking at the Echo Dot costs in relation to the Echo, it’s possible to think that the smaller Home will also get a massive price cut when compared to the standard model.

At the moment, details of the specs and features of both the Chromebook Pixel and Google Home mini are still unknown. But for sure, like the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL details, we should see more of these two in the build up to their expected launch this fall.
