When the Google shifted its attention from Nexus to Pixel, it was thought that the same will happen with the Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet.
Latest rumors suggest that the company is still working on releasing a Nexus 7 2016 tablet before this year comes to a conclusion. Previous rumors had claimed that the device would be launched with the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, but this did not materialize. In fact, the hype that was thrown around the phones made it easy for no one to think about the Nexus tablet, something Google welcomed very much.
With the holiday season fast-approaching, many would love to have a Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet to wrap up the year in style. A little over a month ago, a leak came out suggesting that Huawei was in charge of making the Nexus 7 2016, echoing an earlier statement from a Huawei official in South Africa, who confirmed that Huawei will indeed be making a Google device this year. But there seems to be a twist to this.
An earlier report claimed that Huawei walked away from a deal that Google presented them with respect to this year’s Pixel and Pixel XL phones. Apparently, Google needed a silent partner, like Foxconn and Apple, but Huawei was not ready for this. Instead, Taiwanese tech giant HTC took up the chance and according to reports, it is the same Pixel maker that is behind the making of the Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet.
Google seems to be promoting its new brand name – Pixel – as well as cementing its name in the hardware industry. As a result, don’t be surprised if the tech giant went for a similar name change for this Google Nexus 7 2016, instead, naming it the Pixel 7. At this moment, there is no confirmed piece of information, with most of the details here based on rumors and speculations – but this is how the stories for other devices have always begun.
Another statement coming from PC Advisor argues that Google might decide to stick with the Nexus 7 2016 naming, but just for this device. Word on the street as it that the device will be powered by Andromeda OS alongside a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB RAM. There will be 64GB of storage, a 5100mAh battery and a 13MP snapper on the back. As the name suggests, the Nexus 7 2016 tablet will have a screen size of 7-inches, a pressure-sensitive AMOLED panel with QHD resolution.
