We know that there’s a Xiaomi Mi 6 coming up and even though the exact details of this phone are not known, we haven’t been short of rumors and leaks about it.
If rumors are ton be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be here probably during this month, with an official release happening later in May. In fact, the phone has reportedly appeared on China’s 3C certification body with model number MCE16, but still, the Chinese OEM has not given out anything official.
Another rumor came in with an alleged box of the Xiaomi Mi 6. This box had quite a number of features that are reportedly set to be available on the Mi 6, among them the usual 5.15-inch display screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, a 12MP snapper on the back (probably dual), a 4MP selfie sensor and an impressive 3200mAh battery unit.
Now, in a new leak, we have our eyes on fresh images of an alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 case and so far, these images add more features to what we already know about the phone. If right, we’ll see a Mi 6 flagship that has a waterproof design, probably with the same rating as the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8, and LG G6 or even iPhone 7 for that matter.
The leaked images also reveal the bottom side of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 6, confirming a USB-C port, speaker grilles as well as a missing 3.5mm audio jack. This means that the USB-C port will also double as the audio connectivity port, just like the Moto Z, HTC U Ultra and a bunch of LeEco phones, among other devices. This is a bold move by Xiaomi, considering that we’ve just seen the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 come in with USB-C port but managed to keep the 3.5mm audio jack intact. On the contrary, we know that Xiaomi is not usually afraid of trying new things. Talk of the Xiaomi Mi MIX, for instance.
Do keep in mind that these images are just rumors and nothing official from Xiaomi. In short, take them with a grain of salt.
