A few days ago a report came from Samsung Singapore saying that the region will be receiving a blue coral version of the Galaxy S7 Edge – a color that had been spared for the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.
Now, it appears that this mermaid-looking variant of the Galaxy S7 Edge will also be making its way to the Great White North. However, Samsung has not yet confirmed the exact date as to when this phone will actually be available for purchase in the North American country.
Released at the beginning of this month, the blue coral Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to spice up the already dull Samsung Galaxy market thanks to the lack of a fresh flagship from the company. The Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to keep buyers busy until the release of the Galaxy S8, but Samsung has now been forced to turn to its most trusted servant in 2016 to save its dwindling returns.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was voted the best smartphone in 2016 and by adding a blue coral color variant – a variant that saw huge demand (and delays in shipping due to limited supply) before the unexpected happened – Samsung is only looking to attract those who would have gone for the same color variant on the Note 7. It makes some sense since the Galaxy S7 Edge has a lot of similarities with the Note 7 – both have a dual-edge screen with Edge software, they carry the same performance specs, camera and so on. However, you get a larger battery on the S7 Edge as well as a lower price tag compared to the Galaxy Note 7. On the contrary, you will be missing out on things like the S Pen and iris scanner, which many can do without, at least until the Galaxy Note 8 is unveiled in 2017.
