Upcoming Samsung Galaxy A12s with key specifications spotted on Geekbench. It could be a variant of Galaxy A12 with a different processor.
Samsung is reportedly in the works to launch a new variant of the Galaxy A12 which will be called Galaxy A12s. The smartphone carries model number SM-A127F. Today, we have spotted the Galaxy A12s on benchmarking site Geekbench along with some of its key specifications.
As per the Geekbench listing, the Galaxy A12s is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM. We are likely to see more RAM variants at the launch. The smartphone boots Android 11 out of the box and is likely to come with One UI 3.1 skin at the top. When tested on Geekbench v5, it managed to pull off 184 points in the single-core test and 1,022 points in the multi-core test.
The Galaxy A12s was recently spotted on Google Play Console listing with 3GB RAM. It also reveals that the phone has 120×1339 pixels resolution and supports a fingerprint scanner which is likely to be integrated with the power button. The support page for the phone is already live on Samsung’s Philippines website, thereby hinting at an imminent launch.
Reliable tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore claims that the upcoming Galaxy A12s is nothing but the original Galaxy A12 with a different chipset. The Galaxy A12 released last year is powered by Helio P35 SoC, while the A12s will get Exynos 850 SoC. He also revealed that the phone will come in three colors – Black, White, and Blue. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is said to have a €180 (roughly $212) price tag and the 4GB RAM + 128GB may be priced at €200 (roughly $235). The renders shared by Sudhanshu resemble the Galaxy A12, so no design changes are being made to the “s” variant.
