Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 to Come with Marshmallow Pre-Installed, Android Nougat Update to Follow Afterwards

Samsung Galaxy A5 2017

Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 is among the Galaxy A series handsets that the South Korean company is set to launch at the upcoming CES 2017 event next week.

The phone has been in the rumor mills for quite some time now and in fact, expectations were high that Samsung will launch it before the end of this month. But as it seems, the CES 2017 is the event that will be used to bring the Galaxy A5 2017 to the world. A number of leaks have been doing rounds showcasing the specs, design and general looks of the phone, but we have even newer images of the phone, all but confirming the previous leaks about the four color variants expected.

The latest images show off the Galaxy A5 2017 in four color variants of blue, gold, pink and black, just like previous rumors had pointed out. The images give us the first real look of the phone’s design, but this not all. Details about the specs of the Galaxy A5 2017 have also been leaked, confirming that the handset will indeed be a monster in terms of performance, at least when compared to other midrangers out there.

Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 will ship with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen featuring a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), giving it one of the best display qualities in the smartphone world. Under the hood, the South Korean tech giant will pack an 8-core Exynos 7880 processor that is clocked at a speed of 1.8GHz alongside a Mali-T860 MP4 graphics processing unit. This speedy processor will also be paired with an even better RAM of 3GB alongside an internal storage of 32GB.

Just like prior reports had claimed, the phone will come with a 16MP lens on both the front and back cameras, making it one of the best, if not the best, in this photography department. With battery life becoming a huge concern for many smartphone users, Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 owners will have nothing to worry about thanks to the huge 3000mAh unit that will be packed inside the handset.

Even though a little disappointing due to the fact that it will come preinstalled with the slightly older Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, buyers of this phone can be assured that an update to Android 7.0 Nougat will follow the official release, but at a later time that has yet to be confirmed. The good side of the story is that Galaxy A5 2017 owners will be buoyed by the fact that the handset will be joining the 2016 flagships of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in being among the few devices boasting a dust and water resistance rating of IP68. This means that the phone will be able to survive up to 30 minutes in water that is 1.5 meters deep.

Other perks included on the Galaxy A5 2017 include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C and a very slim body of just 7.8mm thick. As noted earlier, this handset is expected to debut at the upcoming CES 2017 alongside the Galaxy A3 2017 and Galaxy A7 2017.
