Samsung Galaxy C7 Benchmark Leaks Reveal More Specs

Samsung Galaxy C7

If you are an avid follower of Samsung, you must have heard the news that the South Korean company is working on a new model in the shape of Samsung Galaxy C series.

According to sources, the company will soon be following the likes of Samsung Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J5 in releasing a new series, with only two variants being touted – Samsung Galaxy C7 and Galaxy C5. As usual, leaks have been plenty, however, Samsung has not yet mentioned anything to do with this new model.

There are even more leaks coming from a benchmarking site, with more details of what the upcoming Samsung Galaxy C7 is expected to pack showing up. While there were some rumors claiming that Samsung is looking to replace the Galaxy A series with the new Galaxy C series, the latest reports seem to place the new C series right below the A series as far as the spec sheet is concerned.

Rumored design of Samsung Galaxy C7

If rumors are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy C7 will come with a slim metal build and so will the Galaxy C5. The two phones are expected to be launched this coming month, with first sales set to happen in China. At the moment, there is no concrete information regarding the phone’s availability in other markets.

Samsung Galaxy C5, which goes by the model number SM-C5000, recently showed on Geekbench and a few days later, its elder brother Galaxy C7 made an appearance as well, but this time courtesy of China’s AnTuTu. In the leaked filings, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy C7 will be superior in specs as compared to the C5, which is what we expected right from the beginning.

According to the leaks coming from GFXBench, Samsung Galaxy C7 will have model number SM-C7000. Under the hood, the mid-tier phone will pack impressive features that include a Snapdragon 625 SoC that is backed by an Adreno 506 GPU and a massive RAM of 4GB, which is the same amount of RAM available in 2016 flagships such as Galaxy S7, HTC 10 and LG G5, among others. In terms of storage, expect to get 32GB, which should be expandable using a microSD card of up to 128GB.

Other features that were made public courtesy of the leaked GFXBench listing include a 16MP sensor on the rear and a decent 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. To ensure that the phone sits at par with 2016 releases, Samsung Galaxy C7 will come powered by the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy C7

Previous leaks had revealed very little about the display screen of the Galaxy C7. However, there is more coming from the latest reports. Samsung Galaxy C7 will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display that drops QHD resolution used on the flagships in favor of a Full-HD resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. In comparison, the Galaxy C5 will come with a 5.2-inch display screen, but with the same technology behind it.

While the latest reports may seem valid, it is worth noting that previously, an import/export analysis website listed Samsung Galaxy C7 to be of 5.7-inches as far as display size is concerned, which casts the spec sheet of the phone into further doubts. Nevertheless, we expect to see Galaxy C series devices that are well above the mid-tier devices but resting behind the flagship offerings from Samsung.
