Last month, Samsung had announced the Galaxy J8 mid-range smartphones alongside the Galaxy A6, A6+ and Galaxy J6 phones in India. Even though the Galaxy J8 has been introduced, it is yet to be available for buying. Apart from India, Taiwan could be the other market where Samsung could be selling the Galaxy J8 phone. The reason behind it is that the SM-J810Y/DS model number which belongs to Galaxy has been certified by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) authority in Taiwan. The NCC certification documents contain some real images of the J8 phone.
As it can be seen in the images below, the Galaxy J8 features an elongated display. The South Korean tech giant has already confirmed that the J8 is fitted with 6-inch S-AMOLED screen with Infinity Display design that delivers an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.
The top bezel of the phone has a dedicated LED flash for the front-facing camera. The device seems to be wearing polycarbonate chassis that features a vertically stacked dual camera setup with a fingerprint scanner placed below.
The bottom edge has a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port. The volume buttons, power key and SIM card slot are located on the edges of the phone.

Samsung has revealed that the Snapdragon 450 SoC powers the Galaxy J8 phone along with 4 GB of RAM. The screen of the phone produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels.. It has a frontal camera of 16-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture. The dual camera setup of the Galaxy J8 includes f/1.7 aperture 16-megapixel primary camera and an f/1.9 aperture 5-megapixel secondary camera for capturing photos with bokeh effect. It is the very same dual camera setup found on the Galaxy A6+ smartphone.
The Galaxy J8 has an inbuilt storage of 64 GB and it also features a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset receives power from 3,500mAh battery. It is preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo. In India, the handset is expected to go on sale with a pricing of Rs. 18,990 starting from June 20.
