After Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were updated to Android Nougat a few weeks ago, the next line device was to be the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 series.
Well, this is currently happening as the latest reports coming from Samsung-centric website Sam Mobile says that users of both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 will start receiving the new Android 7.0 Nougat before the end of this month. The Galaxy S6 has been spotted on numerous occasions with the new Nougat OS on board. It has even made stops at the Wi-Fi Alliance for certification and the listing revealed Android Nougat as the OS running the show.
It appears that Samsung will be done with tests of the OS with respect to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 before February ends, thus making it available to those in Europe’s Turkey, the website notes. Note that by mentioning Galaxy S6 in this case, we are referring to the entire list of the S6 – including the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+.
After rolling out the OS to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6, the South Korean tech giant will reportedly push out the same update to other Galaxy devices that are compatible with the OS starting May onwards. It is a little disappointing, though, that the details available are only touching in the Turkish market, but if this goes on to materialize, other markets in Europe won’t be far behind in receiving the same treat. As for the U.S., the story is the same as those in other countries other than Turkey.
While the list does not go into specifics, it confirms that a bunch of Galaxy A and Galaxy J series handsets will also be in line to receive Android Nougat OTA before the end of H1 2017.
