Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Note 4 and Galaxy S5 Marshmallow Update Release News

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 started receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in February, however, this update has yet to reach out to all Note 5 units across the entire globe.

The latest news regarding the phablet’s Marshmallow update concerns Canadians using the device on Rogers network. The carrier had planned to roll out the update beginning May 25, however, things have now changed and apparently, the update will start rolling out at the end of this month.

Those using Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on carriers such as Telus, Wind Mobile, and Bell have already received this update, but Rogers seems to be lagging behind the pack. As mentioned earlier, the carrier has listed the update for Galaxy Note 5 to start on May 25, however, it warns that as much as it will always strive to ensure that dates are accurate, sometimes things might get beyond their control and hence the changes in schedules. The Note 5 will also be joined by Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in receiving this Marshmallow update at the end of this month. As for those on the flagship Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Rogers has only listed the release dates as “summer 2016” but there are no specific dates.

Even though the Marshmallow rollout date for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has changed, there are no changes on the date for rolling out the same update for 2014’s Samsung Galaxy S5. Just like the previous schedule had stated, the updated version of the schedule has retained the May 25 release date for Samsung Galaxy S5 Marshmallow update. This is good news for owners of this now 2-year old flagship thanks to the fact that the update has been around for a few weeks now.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Note 4 and Galaxy S5

If you still rock Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, the update should reach your device as from June 20th, however, those using the Galaxy S5 Active and Galaxy A5 can only stick to “Coming soon” as the official release date of this OS.

The date for pushing out the Marshmallow update to those using Samsung Galaxy Note Edge on Rogers has not been changed also, meaning that the OS should be available for download as from May 25. This is the same day that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 should also start receiving this Marshmallow update.

  1. Rogers hasn’t been owned by att for 12 years. Rogers bought back atts 34% stand in 2004. I doubt there will be any connection in release dates.
