Samsung Galaxy On8 Teased with a Super AMOLED Full HD Display

Galaxy On8

After the launch of Samsung Galaxy On7 2016, the South Korean company’s next big thing in the mid-range market segment is the Galaxy On8.

Like the rest of the Galaxy On series, it is possible that Samsung Galaxy On8 will not be available to all markets across the globe. Don’t be surprised if the phone remains in China and some parts of Asia, but still, this doesn’t mean it won’t draw interest from other parts of the world, including the U.S. and Europe, for instance.

For the lucky few, Samsung Galaxy On8 should be ready in a few days’ time. This is true thanks to info that comes from India’s leading online retailer, Flipkart, which has teased the phone alongside a few core specs. Despite the fact that we already baptized the phone Samsung Galaxy On8, the leak doesn’t mention anything specific to this name. However, the retailer has gone ahead to include the name in the list of partners for its upcoming Big Billion Days sales event that starts on October 2.

There is no confirmation that Samsung Galaxy On8 will be up for grabs on this very day, but the fact that Flipkart already has it on its list is a huge suggestion that the phone is just around the corner. In fact, it is possible that Samsung could unveil the Galaxy On8 earlier than this date, so, be ready for anything.

As far as specs are concerned, Samsung Galaxy On8 will reportedly come with a Super AMOLED display screen that features a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There is still no word on what exactly will be the screen size, but the images confirm what looks like a metallic frame, which could be a major differentiator when it comes to the rest of the Galaxy On series.

Even though Android Nougat is available on Google Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X as well as LG V20 (yet to be released), it is safe to assume that Samsung Galaxy On8 will stick to Android Marshmallow out of the box, with an update probably coming next year.

The news of a Galaxy On8 comes after the tech giant launched the 2016 Galaxy On7, another mid-range phone that comes with some impressive specs. These include a 5.5-inch TFT Full HD screen with 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. There is a 3300mAh battery alongside 13MP/8MP cameras. You also get a fingerprint scanner and Android Marshmallow. This phone is selling in China for $240.

With the Galaxy On8 expected to offer advanced specs than the On7 2016, it will be interesting to see what price tag Samsung will slam on the mid-ranger.
