Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is expected to be announced before the end of this month or early next month. With its days numbered, numerous leaks of the rugged phone have been showing up almost from all angles of the web.
Just recently, we reported about a leaked Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. The leaked photo showed that the phone will come with a digital camouflage that makes it blend perfectly with the outdoor nature, an indicator that the phone will indeed be made for the outside world.
Even before this rumor gets further, a new leak has surfaced showing off yet another color variant of the Galaxy S7 Active. Apparently, famous leaker @evleaks thinks that the upcoming S7 Active will feature what he describes as a “desert camo.” This is the gold variant of the Galaxy S7 Active, still, it looks very similar to the recently leaked photos of the phone. There are noticeably beefed up corners as well as the missing capacitive buttons and in their place are physical buttons.
One thing that is for sure by now is that Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be exclusive to AT&T. This is not the first time the carrier is claiming exclusive rights to the Active variant of Samsung’s flagship. It also happened with last year’s Galaxy S6 where an Active variant was also unveiled under AT&T.
Apparently, the upcoming Galaxy S7 Active will come with model number SM-G891A and it will carry the same hardware specs as the flagship handset, but there will also some subtle differences, just like previous Galaxy Active versions. The phone will reportedly feature the same screen size as the Galaxy S7 Edge as well as the same resolution.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S7 Active will include the latest Snapdragon 820 SoC and a RAM of 4GB, just like the other flagships. The camera specs and storage options will also remain the same at 12MP/5MP and 32GB, respectively. However, it is on the outside that the phone will take massive changes. Being a rugged version, expect a tougher material build and even better water, dust as well as shock resistance capabilities than the previous models.
As mentioned earlier, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be released this coming month, but there is no specific date so far. Keep following us and we’ll let you know when the phone is here, including the pricing details.
