Samsung recently confirmed that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be unveiled in February, probably at the MWC 2018 event in Barcelona.
With this date only a few weeks away from now, details of both Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ have been popping up from different corners of the web giving us a supposed early look at what the company has in store. Of course, this is the usual business that comes before the launch of any flagship phone and it’s not all the time that it ends up being true.
Nonetheless, the latest development comes from someone who is becoming a reliable tipster in the smartphone leaking business, Ice Universe. While we already knew that the standard Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature a single-lens camera while the Galaxy S9+ will get a dual-lens setup, it’s until now that details of the lenses to be used are emerging.
Apparently, the single-lens unit on the Galaxy S9 will be a 12MP lens with f/1.5 aperture while the Galaxy S9+ will get a dual 12MP+13MP setup that could benefit from an even wider aperture of f/1.4 on the primary shooter and f/2.4 on the secondary shooter. In comparison, the Galaxy Note 8’s primary sensor has an aperture of f/1.7 while the second lens gets f/2.4 and both lenses have OIS, something we still don’t know about the Galaxy S9+.

What we do know, though, is that the Galaxy Note 8 can only manage video recordings of up to 240fps, but according to the tipster, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will manage video recordings of up to 960fps, effectively matching the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. But of course, this is just a rumor and nothing concrete yet.
As for the rest of the specs, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ should stick to the same 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch screens seen on the S8 and S8+, but the processors will be upped to Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 (depending on region). Where the S9 will get 4GB RAM, the S9+ will get a bigger 6GB RAM, but both should have 64GB of expandable storage. Still, there are rumors that the Galaxy S9 and/or S9+ could be the first to feature storage options of up to 512GB.
