About two months ago, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 (2015) was spotted on GFXBench with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board and two months before, the tablet had been cleared by the Wi-Fi Alliance to receive the Nougat update.

Samsung has been releasing software updates to devices that are at least two years old and given its 2015 launch and subsequent launch of Nougat the following year, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 was without a doubt going to be on the list of beneficiaries. In fact, when the update started rolling out in a handful of European markets, among them Italy, Spain, Hungary, Germany and Ireland, it was never a surprise. What was a little strange was the straight jump to Android 7.1.1 Nougat when other Sammy devices were receiving Android 7.0 Nougat.

Now, in a bid to spread the Nougat love to more Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 (2015) users in Europe, the Korean tech giant has started rolling out the OTA update to those in the Netherlands. This update goes to the variant with model number SM-T550 and carries firmware version T550XXU1CQJ6, weighing a little over 1GB.

In addition to installing the upgraded Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the update also brings a new Samsung Experience 8.5 skin that is accompanied by enhanced usability of the Notification feature as well as the Quick Settings button, improved multi window usability, faster system upgrade and installation of apps as well as general improvements in performance.

One of the most interesting additions is Samsung Cloud. This is a feature that will let Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 (2015) users conveniently back up data and settings, effectively creating more space for installation of apps you download from the Google Play Store and other places.
