The mid-range family at Samsung is growing day and night. The recent revelation of Samsung Galaxy J Max and Galaxy J2 has now been followed by another Galaxy J1 Ace Neo.
This phone, unlike many of the handsets that Samsung has been rolling out in the recent past, is extremely palm-friendly as far as size is concerned. The South Korean tech giant has also thrown in a number of color variants in a bid to capture different sets of buyers. Still, this shouldn’t be a big deal for Sammy lovers as the company has been coming in with devices having a variety of color variants.
Being an entry-level smartphone, the handset has low-end specs and features, something that should also translate to an affordable price when it is finally made available for purchase.
The Galaxy J1 Ace Neo came to life via the company’s South African website, prompting suggestions that the device might only be sold in this region. The phone is not available for purchase online and the Korean tech giant has also not detailed out any other region that the phone is expected to launch in the coming future. In essence, this could really mean the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo is really meant for the African country.
As mentioned earlier, the phone will be loved by those who have small hands. It features a Super AMOLED screen with 4.3 inches of display size, but the 480p WVGA resolution might disappoint you a little. Still, this is a low-end phone, so, there is really nothing strange about the screen’s specs. The story is the same when it comes to the hardware under the hood. The Galaxy J1 Ace Neo has a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz and is paired with a RAM of 1GB. You get 8GB of internal storage and it can be expanded using a microSD card of up to 128GB.
In terms of camera, you get a 5MP snapper on the rear with an aperture of f/2.2 and LED flash on board. The frontal part has a 2MP sensor that should do pretty well when it comes to selfies and video chatting. Apparently, the phone will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It will also pack a 1900mAh battery unit, which, even though small, will last long due to the screen size, resolution as well as the less energy-demanding hardware used on the J1 Ace Neo. The Korean company has also added the Ultra Power Saving mode to help with even better battery life management.
As for the color variants, users will have Blue, White and Black colors to choose from. The website says that enthusiasts can walk into a Samsung Experience Store V&A located in Cape Town and grab a new Galaxy J1 Ace Neo. However, there are no pricing details listed just yet.
