At CES 2018, Sony made an announcement much to the surprise of many.
The Sony Xperia XA2 was just made official and it confirmed that they are still in the smartphone market with some promising devices on the way.
Previously, it was strongly rumored that the upcoming model will be the Xperia XZ2 flagship variant. However, the team behind Sony has announced a mid-range model which would be more appealing for most smartphone buyers especially when it offers premium quality build and specifications with an affordable price tag.
The specifications of the XA2 is sure to keep you interested in the product as it has everything one would expect at this price point. The device sports a compact and usable 5.2-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which should be more than enough for every day usage as well as media consumption. Under the hood, it is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 combined with Adreno 510 GPU.
The phone has 32GB of storage space to keep users satisfied with enough space for storing songs, movies and photographs. Besides, similar to many other Android smartphones in the market, it can be expanded using the micro SD card slot. The device supports all the modern generation connectivity options including LTE, Wifi, Bluetooth and has quite a large 3,300 mAh battery.
Sony Xperia XA2 is a smartphone designed to offer the best camera capability. The phone has a huge 23-megapixel camera in the rear with 1/2.3-inch sensor hybrid AP. Such a specification can usually be found only in the real DSLR cameras but Sony being a camera manufacturer is doing their best to bring professional grade photography to smartphones in a compact yet powerful package.
The camera offers Steadyshot feature, 5x Clear image zoom and 0.6 seconds quick launch to instantly get it up and going. The front camera is equally powerful with 8-megapixel sensor and has 120-degree wide angle lens for some cool selfies. Such a lens in the front camera allows users tocover a large group of individuals when taking group selfies.
The Xperia XA2 also supports multiple audio technologies for best audio input including Clear Audio+ and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box which is a welcome addition. The phone is expected to hit stores before the end of this month.
Sony also launched the Xperia XA2 Ultra and L2 during their event at CES 2018.
