The Huawei Honor 8 is one of the hottest phones in the market thanks to the amazing specs and price combination it brings to the fold.
Released in July 2016, the Huawei Honor 8 is now headed into the last phase of its first year in the market and like any other smartphone, the price has begun going down. While the phone has a price tag that is already affordable, you can now save up to $50 by buying the phone from the official Honor USA website.
At launch, the Huawei Honor 8 came in priced at $399.99 for the base model while the high-end model was priced at $429.99. If you head to the official Honor USA page right now, you can grab the former at just $349.99 while the latter is now selling at $379.99. These are great prices for a phone that offers a bunch of high-end specs and features that are usually found in phones priced above $600.
For starters, the Honor 8 ships with a decent 5.2-inch display screen with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top and a Full HD resolution. This also means that you get a crispy display thanks to the 423ppi pixel density on board. Under the hood, the phone packs a HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, which is a slightly older high-end chipset and a variation of the Kirin 955 used on the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. This is paired with a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processing unit and a RAM of 4GB.
In terms of storage, there are two variants of the Huawei Honor 8. The base model comes with 32GB while the high-end variant has 64GB. Both models have room for a microSD card, but for those with two SIM cards, you may have to do with the available internal storage only as the phone uses the SIM slot as a microSD card slot.
The back of the Huawei Honor 8 has a dual-lens 12MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, laser AF and dual-tone LED flash. On the opposite end is an 8MP lens with a smaller aperture of f/2.4. Even though the phone is powered by Android Marshmallow out of the box, you still get an update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Like many other Huawei phones, the fingerprint scanner is located on the back.
To keep the Huawei Honor 8 alive is a decent 3000mAh battery that is supported by fast charging technology known as Smart Power 4.0.
