Sprint users of Samsung Galaxy S5 can now enjoy a new update to their device thanks to the non-stop efforts of guys at Samsung Mobile.
The South Korean tech giant has been busy in the recent past with rolling out software updates and even though the Galaxy S5 is close to three years old, the company is still showing its commitment towards keeping it updated.
This update for Samsung Galaxy S5 users might just be the only one this device gets. Or rather, the company will not be pushing out any major update to this device, instead, only minor updates such as the current one will be pushed. This doesn’t mean that you should skip this currently rolling out update, still, it has some goodies in it.
Apparently, the update brings the latest Android Security Patch for the month of January. Looking at its weight of just 27MB, It seems there are no any new features that it brings. Once installed, your Samsung Galaxy S5 will update its software version to G900PVPS3CQA2. Other than the updated security patch level, the new update also comes with performance improvements and bug fixes, which is normal for all monthly security updates.
As noted earlier, Samsung Galaxy S5 is close to three years old following its release in April 2014. With this in mind, not just those on Sprint, but all users of the phone can be sure that there won’t be an official update to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. The last major update for the phone is Marshmallow, which it has already received.
Sprint also offers a rugged version of this phone known as Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, but this has not been mentioned as far as this update is concerned. When the carrier will be rolling out the update is still unknown, but don’t be surprised if the phone is secretly included in this update along with the standard S5.
