Tiago, the new hatchback that was launched recently by Tata Motors, is the one car which has added yet another feather to its cap.
The hatchback has now made it to the list of the top 10 best selling cars in India for the month of November in 2016. The Tata Tiago comes with a new, innovative along with a new and fresh stunning design language of the Tata group with driving dynamics that are based on cutting edge technology that offers a hatchback experience which will be unforgettable.
According to ET Auto, an automobile updates site, the sales of the Tata Tiago stood at a whopping 6,008 units for the month of November, thereby sealing the 10th position in the list of the best-selling cars. With the launch of the Tata Tiago in India, Tata has ticked all the boxes very efficiently. Since the time the Tiago was launched in the country, the car has been registering enormous numbers in terms of its sales. This huge number of sales has helped the company in gaining a 22 percent increase in the passenger vehicle segment last month.
The Tiago, which bears the impact design language of the Tata Motors Company, has now garnered more than 50,000 bookings within a short span of time with its waiting period climbing up to 6 months in the Indian sub-continent.
Fuel Variants
The Tata Tiago comes in both diesel and petrol engine variants. The hot hatchback comes in its petrol version powered by a three-cylinder Revotron power train of 1.2 liters capacity and the diesel variant comes power driven by a three-cylinder Revotorq mill of 1.05 liters capacity. Both the engines come with a Multi-Drive mode for driving in the city and on the highways.
The Tata Tiago comes in 5 variants that include both the petrol and diesel engines namely the Tiago XB, Tiago XE, Tiago XM, and Tiago XT. The Tata Tiago comes in 6 fantastic colors for the users to choose from that include the Berry Red, Pearlescent White, Espresso Brown, Striker Blue, Platinum Silver, and Sunburst Orange.
The Other Features
The Tata Tiago has been successful in luring the customers with its IMPACT design language. Apart from the new multi-faceted Tata emblem and the exclusive hexagon grille which has become the signature of the Tiago, the hatchback also offers a host of other features that include the Juke-Car app and a Turn-By-Turn Navigation app that can be enabled by smartphones, dual front airbags, Height-adjustable driver’s seat, Driver seatbelt reminder, Door open display, 22 utility spaces that have been designed smartly and intelligently, in-gear shift indicators and low fuel indicator, foldable key, ConnectNext Infotainment system by HarmanTM, outside door mirrors that can be electrically adjusted, a total of eight speakers, and a steering wheel mounted with controls.
Sales Figures
Though the sales figures were down by almost 100 units when compared to the previous month, the Tata Motors Tiago has finally entered the list of top 10 models after a gap of more than 3 years, which has been hugely dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. The automaker has sold 12,736 passenger vehicles in the month of November 2016 which makes Tata Motors the 3rd largest car maker in India. Since the time of its launch, the Tiago has managed to sell an average of 5000 units on a monthly basis and the company has so far received more than 50,000 bookings. The demand for the Tiago petrol variant is more when compared to that of its diesel version.
The Other Best-Selling Cars
The list of the other best-selling cars in November was headed by Maruti Suzuki Alto, which retained the top position with a sales figure of 23,320 units. It was followed by the Dzire, Wagon R and Swift, all from Maruti. The premium hatchback, Baleno which comes from the house of Maruti, had rounded off the position at top 5 with covering sales of 11,093 units. Celerio is the other Maruti model which made it to the top 10 list by occupying the seventh position with a sales figure of 9,543 units. While Kwid, which is better known as Renault’s game-changer settled for the 8th position in the list with 7,847 units, the Elite i20 from Hyundai had bagged the 9th slot with 7,601 units. Tata Tiago concluded the list with a sales figure of 6,008 units.
The Tata Tiago goes up against in contest with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai i10, and the Chevrolet Beat. The demonetization in India has affected the sales of many cars and the results have shown a huge drop in the sales figures for models like the Honda City, Hyundai Elite i20, and Hyundai Grand i10. The Maruti models have not been much affected from demonetization.
