The former developer has said that Bethesda does not give its developers enough freedom to work around ideas.
Grand Theft Auto 6, without a doubt, is the most anticipated game of our times. However, a few other titles, too, are being keenly looked forward to by the gaming community. The Elder Scrolls 6, which was announced way back in 2018, is one game that everybody is dying to know about. While Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive in the fall of 2025, Bethesda has not shared an important update about The Elder Scrolls 6.
As a video game publishing company, Bethesda Softworks was launched in 1986. In all these years, the company has produced several popular gaming titles, including The Elder Scrolls franchise, Escape from Singe’s Castle, The Terminator, PBA Bowling, Sea Dogs, Rage, The Evil Within, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Redfall. While most of the company’s games have been received well, some of the recent titles, including Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, suffered on account of being launched with bugs. Starfield had a fairly smooth launch, but according to many fans, it left a lot to be desired.

A developer, who identifies themselves as Purkeypile, shed some light on the limited freedom Bethesda offers while addressing the audience at Game Developers Conference. As per the developer, that was not always the case with the gaming studio.
Back then, according to the developer, the studio gave a lot of freedom to its developers and allowed their ideas to take shape in the most fulfilling manner.
The developer stated that Skyrim shaped up very well, as they had enough freedom to do things the way they wanted to. The game, which came out in 2011, continues to be very popular with fans.
The developer decided to call it quits at Bethesda when Starfield was being developed. While working on Skyrim, the development team had the freedom to do things they wanted to. That, however, was not the case while working on Skyrim. The developer, therefore, did not want to stick around and decided to quit.

The developer’s statements have created a furore in the gaming community what with many wondering whether The Elder Scrolls 6 would suffer because of this high-handed approach taken by Bethesda. If the studio does not give adequate freedom to its developers, fans worry, the game might not shape up well.
A lot of expectations are attached to The Elder Scrolls 6. While fans are expecting a lot from it, it is also an important title for the studio. Since some of the recent titles by the studio have received an underwhelming response, it is all the more important for it to come up with something that manages to impress a large section of fans. It has been seven years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced. The last thing fans would want is a half-baked product.
