Who doesn’t like the sound of “free data?” Of course, everyone will jump at the opportunity to be served with free data on their smartphone.
Free data is exactly what Verizon want to give you. However, there is a catch. You must use Android Pay at least three times for this to happen. This is a cool promotion for Verizon customers and if you were somehow running short of data, you just want more data for your browsing needs or you probably use Android Pay every now and then, there is no better time to take advantage of this promo than now.
Android Pay has been in the United States for quite some time now. The service is baked into Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, but it can still work with older devices powered by Android KitKat as long as they have an NFC chip. At the moment, the service is available at more than 1.5 million locations across the country.
How it works
So, how really does this Verizon promotion work? Simple! Just launch the Android Pay app on your phone while visiting any of the supported stores, make a payment and you will be eligible for 1GB of free data. Cool huh!
It gets even cooler with more purchases. If you go ahead and make two more purchases to make it a total of three, Verizon will hand you an extra GB of free data. So, what this means is that when you use Android Pay up to three times on your Verizon-powered smartphone, you will receive 2GB of free data.
In case you have no idea of where to get a store that supports Android Pay services in the U.S., try Subway, Whole Foods, Macy’s, Trader Joe’s and Peet’s Coffee, among other places. If you are a Verizon user and your phone supports Android Pay, why not use the mobile payment service at least three times and get this 2GB of free data? Unless the prospect of streaming up to 16 hours of non-HD video or posting more than 5000 videos doesn’t excite you.
