The two-year old smartphone will receive all goodies that come along with the new OS, among them Google Now on Tap that eases the process of accessing helpful information, the battery saving feature known as Doze as well as new app permissions that make the system quite user friendlier than before.

The update takes the build number to MMB29K.N920VVRU2BPB2 and it comes along with a new version of TouchWiz UI, Internet 4.0 web browser as well as Cross App multitasking. Verizon will also be including its Wi-Fi Calling as well as YouTube Live features. AT&T and T-Mobile are expected to follow suit with their Galaxy Note 5 Marshmallow updates, but there is no specific date.
