Nokia 8

HTC Global confirmed that it will be attending the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona when it sent out invites for the event just the other day.

The Finnish company recently oversaw the return of Nokia to the mobile industry with the launch of a Nokia 6 midrange phone. According to reports, the pre-sale figures of the phone has already hit over 400K and counting, but the company won’t be stopping at this. At the MWC, a Nokia 8 will be launched – a phone that is aimed at taking on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and other flagship phones in the making.

Like the Nokia 6, the Nokia 8 has begun making headlines in news sites thanks to the impressive specs it supposedly comes with. The phone was reportedly showcased by Qualcomm at the recently-ended CES 2017, with the chipmaker asking those present to keep everything secret by not taking photos. Well, this was not successful as a clear view of the phone has just surfaced via a video.

From the leaked video, Nokia 8 will reportedly be coming in with a Snapdragon 835 processor, just like many other smartphone flagships this 2017. Apparently, the phone will go for a massive 6GB RAM that will put it on the same levels as the OnePlus 3, 3T, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Huawei Mate 9 Pro, just to name but a few handsets out there with the same RAM configuration. However, the Finnish tech giant will also add a second and entry-level model based on the slightly older Snapdragon 821 SoC. This model will also be paired with a slightly smaller RAM of 4GB.

In terms of cameras, we only have details of the high-end variant of the Nokia 8, with reports revealing that a 24MP snapper will be on the back. This lens will include things like OIS, EIS, dual-tone LED flash and many others while the front snapper will carry a 12MP lens. The company wants you to further enjoy your music and as such, the phone will also ship with dual front-facing speakers. As for the rest of the details regarding the entry-level variant of the Nokia 8, we’ll let you know when we get hold of them.
