Earlier this month, a mysterious Vivo phone with model number Vivo 1808 was spotted on Geekbench.
Even though the smartphone has been approved by certification bodies like Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Europe and Ecomm in Malaysia, the official name had remained under the wraps. The same model number has now surfaced on Thailand’s NBTC authority to reveal that it will be arriving in the market as Y81.

On further investigating on its existence, it has been found that Vivo has just launched the Y81 smartphone in Taiwan.
Vivo Y81 Specifications, Features and Pricing
The all-new Y81 smartphone features a 6.22-inch display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The 19:9 aspect ratio supporting screen feature a notch at the top. The smartphone is fueled by MediaTek Helio P22 SoC that includes an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.0 GHz. The SoC is coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 32 GB. It also features a microSD for additional storage. The handset is loaded with the FunTouch OS4.0 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo.

The Y81 phone has a rear camera of 13-meapixel with f/2.2 aperture. It has a selfie snapper of 5-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture that doubles up for face unlock. It houses a 3,260mAh battery.
The handset measures 155.06 x 75 x 7.7mm and weighs 145 grams. The handset has arrived in Taiwan in a single color option of Black. It carries a pricing of 4,990,000 ($219).

Vivo Y83 (Vivo 1802)
The newly introduced Vivo Y81 (Vivo 1808) bears resemblance with the Vivo Y83 (Vivo 1802) smartphone that was launched in May. Both the phones have same design and specs, but there are a few differing features on the Vivo Y83. The Y83 variant for China has 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM whereas the Indian model has 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. Also, the Y83 phone is equipped with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
