Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched on March 29 and even though this is still a whole three weeks away, the Chinese market has already been flooded with clones of the flagship.
There is no doubt that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are the most anticipated phones of 2017, however, not everyone is waiting to see what Samsung has in store for us. Instead, some dubious manufacturers from China are already coming up with hilariously fake clones based on the many leaks and rumors that are doing rounds.
Of course, to ensure that the common consumer falls into this trap, the shady firms have ensured that the alleged Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ handsets doing rounds have a SAMSUNG logo on it, however, this doesn’t confirm that the hardware has been put together by the South Korean company.
From the appearances, we can see that just about every major aspect of the phone is not right. While the edges of the screen are rounded as it has been put in the rumors and leaks, the design is nowhere near the sleek glass and metal build that we expect to see from Samsung. In fact, you would be forgiven to mistake the phone for a piece of bar that has both sides fitted with regular panels. However, the OEMs have successfully managed to fit the fingerprint scanner at the rumored place, although the setup looks alarmingly huge.
The story is the same when it comes to the alignment of the front camera and proximity sensors. Unlike what we’ve seen before where Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ designs include a fourth button that is reportedly meant for Bixby, the clones have nothing of the sort.
As noted earlier, Samsung Galaxy S8 will not be here until March 29. Even so, this won’t mean that it will be available for purchase on this date. In fact, latest reports claim that the phones will start shipping somewhere towards the end of next month.
