You probably already know of WhatsApp, a messaging app that happens to be the most used in the world with a following of over 1 billion people. But do you know of WhatsApp Plus?
Well, in case you didn’t know, WhatsApp Plus is the better version of WhatsApp. The application has some of the best features you can only dream of having on the main chat app. What it essentially does is take what is offered on the Facebook-owned app and add some tweaks and flavors to make it even sweeter to use than the original application.
Those still using the standard version might be wondering whether to make the official jump to WhatsApp Plus or keep things intact. The latest version of the clone app has some amazing features to offer, some of which have already tempted hundreds of thousands to make the switch.
Great features but still a risky download
Some of you might be wondering why this WhatsApp Plus app is not available via the Play Store. Well, it was once there, but later on removed to what was believed to be a violation of rights. At some point following WhatsApp’s acquisition by Facebook, those whose accounts were associated with the app were banned from accessing any WhatsApp-related service for periods of up to 72 hours.
However, the developer of WhatsApp Plus – Rafalete – came in with a tweak that still allowed users to bypass the ban and keep on using the app. The app has since been receiving numerous updates, with many of them being upgrades from what the mother app is offering.
What has made WhatsApp Plus such a popular app is the unique range of features it offers. The best part of the app is that almost everything can be customized, be it the appearance of the main home screen icon, colors, text fonts, size and so on.
WhatsApp Plus also adds more capabilities of sending media files, allowing up to 50MB of files to be shared as well as the ability to attach more than 10 photos to a single message. If privacy is what you care for, the clone app is what you need to go for. It allows you hide your identity from the public while still keeping tabs on the activities of your friends.
How to download and install WhatsApp Plus
As mentioned earlier, WhatsApp Plus is not available via the Google Play Store. This means that you cannot download and install it directly on your Android phone, instead, you will have to use the web browser to download the app first. In addition to the fact that downloading Android apps outside the Play Store is not seamless, chances of getting infected apps are high, which makes the entire thing risky.
However, given the great features on offer and the wide variety of free antivirus programs available for mobile devices, WhatsApp Plus is worth taking the risk.
Once you get the installer package from a reliable website, you will need to make some changes to your phone’s settings in order to allow installation. This change can be effected from the Security Settings and check the “Unknown sources” option. Only allow this option for this option as leaving it enabled might lead to unwanted programs to be installed on your phone. Also, make sure that you have uninstalled the current WhatsApp while at the same time creating a backup of all your important conversations.
Go back to the downloaded installer and tap it to start the installation process, which is no different from the usual. The clone app uses the same number as what you used on the original app, thus, entering your current WhatsApp number will eventually migrate all your backed up conversations to the new WhatsApp Plus account.
You can now start enjoying new and advanced features of WhatsApp Plus for free.
