Xiaomi Mi Max has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now and it seems the time to come out is here. Based on the latest reports, the Mi Max will probably see the light during next week’s company event.
The event is set to take place on Tuesday, May 10 and it is when the Chinese company is expected to announce this phablet.
Featuring a huge 6.44-inch display screen, the phone is expected to appeal to the group that has fallen in love with mega-sized display units on smartphones. As usual, the device will be priced fairly in order to attract more customers on board, but this will come at a small price as well. Rather than the device coming in with a QHD display screen for the phablet, Xiaomi opted for a Full HD display unit with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels.
If the latest rumors are to be believed, the new Xiaomi Mi Max will pack a decent RAM of 2GB for the base model. This same model will also come with a storage of just 16GB, but the good side is that it will only be available for a price of just $200. While Xiaomi went for the Snapdragon 820 SoC with respect to the Mi5 and Mi5 Pro, phones that are priced a little higher than the Mi Max, the price tag of the phablet means that it will not be powered by the latest flagship chipset.
Rumor has it that the Xiaomi Mi Max will be powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 650 SoC. Furthermore, it is said that the Mi Max will have a second variant with stepped-up specs that include a RAM of 3GB and onboard storage of 32GB. Despite the slight hardware changes, the upper-end Xiaomi Mi Max will still be powered by a Snapdragon 650 SoC.
