Xiaomi Redmi 7 with model number M180F6LG has bagged approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S.
It is the same model number that was recently approved by 3C authority in China and Info-Communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) agency in Singapore. The variants of Redmi 7 were also certified in Russia’s EEC and Taiwan’s NCC body, thereby confirming global launch.
The FCC certification of M180F6LG does not directly reveal the name of the device. However, it was confirmed in the IMDA certification of the model number that it will be arriving with the moniker ‘Redmi 7‘.
The FCC documents of the M180F6LG shows that the handset measures 157 x 76 mm. The smartphone measures 167mm diagonally which indicates that the overall screen size is about 6.57 inches. We can expect the display to be around 6.2 inches. The schematics of the phone shown in the FCC documents suggests that it may come with a single rear camera. The handset will be arriving as the successor of the Redmi 6 phone from last year that had featured a dual camera setup on its rear.
The Redmi 7 will come preinstalled with MIUI 10. Probably, it will be running on the latest Android 9 Pie OS. The handset will be available in three storage variants namely 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. These specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 7 have surfaced for the first time through the FCC certification we have spotted today.
The Redmi 7 may belong to the Redmi 7 series that will include smartphones like Redmi 7A and Redmi 7 Pro. The Redmi 7A could be an entry-level model. In December, a Russian tech blog had revealed the frontal design of Redmi 7 Pro. It was revealed that the handset would be featuring a waterdrop-style notched display. Probably, it may feature a dual camera setup like the Redmi 6 Pro predecessor. As of this writing, there is no information available on the specs of Redmi 7A and Redmi 7 Pro.
