Honda CR-V is such a popular SUV variant and the brand is expanding its lineup with a new compact SUV named the WR-V.
The concept sketch of the car has been released online giving people a glimpse of how the car looks like. It is not going to be long before the official reveal as the Honda WR-V is heading for its first ever display at the 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show. While the year is also coming to a close, there are still auto expos left to be attended and this one will take place in Brazil where the WR-V will be showcased.
Designed to be a Jazz hatchback, the new compact SUV will fill the gap between the HR-V and the CR-V variants. The upcoming model is said to be a tough and urban vehicle designed by the research & development wing in Brazil. The car will be an ideal match for people who enjoy an active lifestyle. It has the best interior space with great utility and all of them are packed into a compact body size allowing the driver to readily cruise the car in varying driving conditions.
Honda has confirmed that the new compact sports utility vehicle will be launched first in Brazil and will later be rolled out to other countries in the South American region. There is no word on bringing it to the US, UK. Just a couple of months ago, a prototype model named Samba was spotted on the road.
It was heavily camouflaged but the shape confirmed that the car is a Jazz-based model. When the prototype was spotted, the car was touted to be the WR-V that Honda is building. Based on the recent concept sketch released by the company, it is possible to conclude that they were indeed testing a car similar to the upcoming compact SUV.
The WR-V is a Cross Jazz with a mix of Volkswagen Polo and the Hyundai i20 Active. The external components on the model include rugged roof rails for a strong top, black cladding on the lower side of the car and skid plates. The shape was quite compact and even though it was impossible to see the interiors of the car, the overall appearance assured us that it could offer the best headroom for passengers onboard.
Honda has been working on building the next big successor in their RV lineup and the new WR-V could be the one!
