The 2016 Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic is coming to UK.
The automobile brand has revealed key specs of these two models, trimlines available, pricing and availability in the region.
The conventional Scenic from Renault will set you back by £21,445 while a much larger and more sophisticated Grand Scenic comes with an obvious price increase at £23,375. The brand has confirmed that buyers in the United Kingdom will be able to purchase the cars from December 1st onwards. Those who pre-order the vehicle will get the deliveries much earlier, as they commence before the end of 2016 to get the first lot to the customers.
Both the Scenic and the Grand Scenic are large vehicles designed to offer great comfort to passengers with ample headroom. The Scenic is a five-seat version whereas the latter will be available in both five-seat and seven-seat variants. The models bid goodbye to old school MPV design and adopt a new muscular crossover finish which balances the best of sleek looks combined with a bold front fascia.
The large finish is contributed by the 20-inch wheels found in these cars. They will be powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine that delivers 113 horsepower by default and 128 horsepower in the higher trimline. Optional 1.5-liter and 1.6-liter diesel engines will also be offered that delivers about 110 horsepower and 158 horsepower respectively. The engines will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox by default while buyers can choose to upgrade to a EDC dual-clutch automatic gearbox if they are willing to pay the additional costs.
Renault has confirmed that they are going to launch a hybrid model which will be available in spring 2017. The proposed variant will use a diesel engine and an electric motor. It renders about 108 horsepower and when combined with the electric motor, can deliver much more power. The brand didn’t reveal the total horsepower of the hybrid model but we do know that it uses a 48V battery.
A range of exquisite features are available in the 2016 Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic. With a total of four trim levels including Expression+, DynamiqueNav, S Nav and Signature Nav, the functions available will vary. Shared upgrades include touchscreen infotainment system, dual zone climate control, bluetooth connectivity, heated mirrors and leather wrapped steering wheel.
Top of the line model uses Nappa leather for steering wheel, black leather for seats, uses LED headlights and has memory function on the driver’s seat.
