The automobile brand confirmed pricing for the 2017 BMW 5 series cars. They also announced that the models will be available in U.S. stores from 11th February next year.
After initially announcing the model, the brand further confirmed more information today and the 2017 BMW 530i will come with a price tag of $51,200. The pricing continues to go higher as you move up the trimlines with more features and add-on content. The 530i xDrive model is priced at $53,500, 540i will set you back by $56,450.
The top of the line model, the 540i is priced at $58,750 which doesn’t include the $995 destination delivery charges. The features included in the standard model are fatigue, focus alert, sports seats, 18-inch double spoke wheels, adaptive LED headlights combined with Anthracite headliner. All these features when bundled together brings the sporty side of the BMW sedan to life.
In terms of powertrain, the models will feature both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder variants with twinpower turbo engines for maximum output. The 6-cylinder version will offer at least 35 horsepower more than its smaller counterpart making it the ideal pick for people who want the best performance out of their 5 series sedans.
With the right combination of aluminum, magnesium and high strength steel, the engineering team has managed to remove 137 lbs off of the original weight of the 2017 BMW 5 series models. They have also vastly improved the chassis system with features including Dynamic Damper Control, Integral Active Steering, as well as all the automatic systems that makes the BMW xDrive an enjoyable ride.
The next gen model is equipped with parking assistance and brake assist system. The dashboard is dominated by a large 8.8-inch instrument panel with all the features to easily control the infotainment iDrive 6.0 system. The latest generation heads up display is used in the setup along with 3D remote view, voice control for handsfree customization of the system.
A wide range of 2017 BMW 5 series models are heading to U.S. stores on launch. According to the company’s website, the 530i, 530i xDrive, 540i and 540i xDrive models will be available on launch. The other models in the lineup includes the 530e, M550i and specific versions with xDrive integration. All of them are expected to be out in 2017 and may have varied pricing based on the region you live in. Besides, there will be a fixed delivery charge on specific models.
