Buick has confirmed the pricing of its 2017 LaCrosse sedan, which will soon go on sale in the United States.
The sedan was first unveiled six months ago, but Buick was keeping the pricing figures as a mystery up until now. Even after announcing the prices, which will see the sedan start at $32,990, the company has not announced the various models that will be available. The Buick LaCrosse is expected to come with a range of features aimed at spicing up sales substantially.
Aspects like HID headlamps, 4G connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and android auto are some of the features expected to be standard on the models. The infotainment system will come with an 8-inch touch screen display in order to aid these systems to work.
Autonomous driving has been one of the big aspects driving the car industry forward in the last couple of years. The Buick LaCrosse has tried to provide several autonomous driving features like automatic parking assist. The parking maneuver can be either for perpendicular or parallel parking techniques. There are several ultrasonic sensors located around the vehicle that will help the driver in this aspect. Adaptive cruise control helps remove the need for braking intervention from the driver while the cruise control is switched on. Radars in front of the device automatically slows down the vehicle if it detects the vehicle in front coming to a halt.
The Buick LaCrosse also goes big on safety equipment with aspects like forward collision alert, Lane departure warning, Lane change alert, side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert coming as standard on top of the luxury elements in the vehicle. However, the presence of these features depends on the trim selected.
Even though there are several options and features that are spread across the range, Buick LaCrosse is not available with different powertrains. Buyers will have to go only for the 3.6-liter V6 motor, which has been taken straight from the Cadillac XT5. However, several fuel-saving tech has been employed in order to help the fuel economy figures. Stop/start technology and cylinder deactivation are some of the tech employed. This motor develops 305 bhp and 268 lb-ft of torque, which will be either sent to the front wheels or the optional all-wheel drive system. An eight speed automatic gearbox is mated to the engine.
The exact dates of availability of the 2017 Buick LaCrosse are not out yet.
