The All-Terrain X addition is now being added to the Sierra HD and GMC has upgraded its edition.

Buyers can now go for a 6.0-liter V8 petrol engine or opt for the 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel variant.

The diesel powertrain was unveiled by GMC just a month ago and it is already available for the 2017 Sierra HD.The 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 HD All Terrain X is similar to other models in the series. It features a fully blacked out exterior but there is an option to buy the Summit White variant if you find it more appealing.

Designed to have higher ground clearance, the Sierra HD All Terrain X uses large 18-inch wheels supplied by Goodyear Duratrac tires. Additional components found in the car include LED off-road lamps, front skid plate, side steps, bed mounted sport bar and spray-on bedliner.There’s a dedicated Z71 package which adds underbody shield to protect the components, has hill descent control and twin tube Rancho shocks.

Buyers have the option to buy a 2017 GMC Sierra HD All-Terrain X powered by a 6.0-liter V8 engine. The powertrain can deliver up to 360 horsepower coupled with 380 lb feet of torque. The company also launched a new engine, the 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel that produces up to 445 horsepower and can deliver up to 910 lb feet of torque.

The newer edition of the engine is equipped with turbo power that can be controlled electronically which provides about 28 psi of boost, has a better air intake system and the new oil cooler has increased capacity. GMC during the launch proudly announced that the new diesel is quieter than the previous edition Duramax. The outgoing powertrain delivered about 397 horsepower and had about 795 lb feet of torque.

With all the upgrades, brand new powertrain and improved interiors, the 2017 GMC Sierra HD All-Terrain X edition offers solid competition to existing trucks in the segment. Ford is still on top of the line powered by a 6.7-liter V8 engine producing up to 440 horsepower and has 952 lb feet of torque. The competition will continue but with much better models and additional features, offering great value for the buyers.

The new truck has also been upgraded with better safety features and components that allows the driver to take it to even the roughest terrain possible without any issues. It’s a great option for adventure lovers who love that extra oomph factor in their vehicle.
