The all-new 2017 Honda CR-V, the SUV designed to compete against the Land Rover and other cars in the segment was revealed much earlier than expected.

The reveal event was held in Detroit and the SUV is confirmed to hit stores in North America before the end of the year. If you live in the UK and is interested in buying, you probably have to wait a couple of months as it won’t be available in the region until 2017. Sources confirmed that it will be available in the United Kingdom before the end of next year.

Honda is going to follow the same path with the CR-V that was laid by the Civic hatchback. The brand has a strong fan following in the UK and they will launch their newer models in North America before bringing it to other regions. The car will not change in terms of powertrain, performance or looks when it is rolled out in regions other than the U.S. You can go through the images to get an idea on how the model will look like.

SUVs are supposed to be large and every year brands attempt to make their launches more spacious than the outgoing edition. The 2017 Honda CR-V is no different as the car now looks longer with a brand new front fascia. The headlamp has been redesigned with LED daytime running lights and the front bumper looks sleeker than it is the previous model. The car also features new tail lamps that are longer and run till the tailgate.

New features found in the CR-V includes new automatic shutter grille system, hands free tail gate and minor modifications. According to the company, the newer components will help reduce aerodynamic drag. The interiors are much spacious and the car boasts of offering the best legroom in its class.

The interior has undergone some specific changes. The instrument panel is covered with a brand new soft touch panel and it also has a large 7-inch touchscreen to control the infotainment system. Garmin navigation is now part of the system. The infotainment can connect with your smart devices using both Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity options.

The 2017 Honda CR-V is built on a brand new chassis and has improved bumpers to increase the comfort level. Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine and there’s a 2.4-liter petrol engine that delivers 182 horsepower. A diesel engine is also on the cards.
