The car is expected to be priced around £75,000 but it’s purely an estimate at the moment. The original pricing could however be higher when it launches in dealership stores. Being one of the top performers, the model will obviously be on the pricier side. The E 63 and the E 63 S were revealed much ahead of the official launch at the Los Angeles motor show. In terms of finish and performance, the car will rival BMW M5 and Audi RS6.

For reliable performance, the engineering team has decided to downgrade the 2017 Mercedes AMG E 63 from the original 5.5-liter twin turbo V8 engine to a much smaller 4.0-liter unit. The powertrain is mated to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. A surprising element is that while they have downgraded the engine to a less powerful performer, the overall output is much higher is pegged at about 563 horsepower while the S edition goes all the way up to 604 horsepower. They have achieved much higher performance while taking the fuel efficiency factor into consideration.

Besides, the four-wheel drive system also plays an integral role in acceleration. The car can now go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds. The maximum speed is pegged at 186 miles per hour when it is equipped with the special Driver’s Package designed by AMG engineers. There is still a Drift mode intact on the car for those who love to take their AMG E 63 or the E 63 S for a spin. In order to do it, a feature is integrated that disables power to the front wheels and activates the rear wheels to get the job done.
